In Kannagi I-III, Aditi Mylavarapu and Sona Selvamani retell and reimagine the story of Kannagi, a young women from the Tamil epic, Silapathikaram. The artists represent her journey from innocent love, to loss, to a rage that is born from both love and oppression. With film photography and drawing intertwined, the artists focused on the quiet details and sharp edges that make Kannagi's story feel human. 
 
This work features Aathira Nair, who embraced Kannagi’s tenderness, loyalty, love of her husband and art, and grief with so much care.
