In Draupadi I-III, Aditi Mylavarapu and Sona Selvamani reimagine three moments from Draupadi, a powerful woman featured in the Mahabharata. The artists are not attempting to retell a spectacle - but rather to confront what this story reveals: female rage as clarity, and justice as the only worthy response. By combining hand-drawn mark-making with film photography, we leaned into nuance and truth; what’s seen, what’s implied, and what’s refused.
These pieces feature Rohini Deivasigamani, who fully embodied Draupadi's power, grief, and defiance.
